I’m not exactly sure what MediaCat does but from the looks of their web site they are a online media publication. I’m guessing because I can’t read the language the web site is posted in, I’m pretty sure its Turkish.
In any case I really like this ad its… smart! The advertising agency responsible for this work is called M.A.R.K.A. based out of Istanbul, Turkey. Its obviously geared toward the Islamic consumer market and I think its well done. With such a dynamic society around the world boundaries are being pushed and changed daily. To see an ad like this is a great sign that people are starting to loosen up a little bit.
Being Americans, our view of the average Muslim has been skewed to say it nicely. The images we see on CNN or MSNBC aren’t images like this but rather primitive and exclusive to one region. Out in the rest of the world there is a bustling community of Muslim consumers just like you and I. These consumers want the nicer things in life, fine clothes, good food and technology… looks like MediaCat is tapping into that market!

Advertising agency “The Red Brick Road” is doing great work for beer giant Heineken! Recently I posted an extremely funny commercial “Walk in Closet”, I didn’t think they could do any better. I was mistaken and actually am confused as to what commercial I like better. In any case they’re both very entertaining and above all FUNNY!

I’m absolutely beside myself! Advertising agency: Colle+McVoy from Minneapolis, Minnesota USA just release a hilarious new video ad campaign for the Minnesota State Lottery! The entire premise of the campaign has this cheesy melodramatic day time soap opera feel that comes across so well. The actors cast in their different roles nail their characters and leave you with a big grin wanting more!

When you look at all the ad agencies around the world and stack them up against one another it doesn’t take long before the super star agencies start to stand out. If you take into consideration longevity, consistency and creativity one of the best ad agencies in the world is BBDO Worldwide. BBDO was recently commissioned by Freightliner Trucks to create an ad campaign for their product which are these huge frightligner trucks!

I’ve got to say the ad campaign is quite clever and anyone passing by on the street would definitely stop to take a second look at what the ad was for but! The one thing I see wrong with the ad or rather my one critic is that the actual product isn’t anywhere to be seen in the ad. Personally I think the ads would go over a lot better if there where a small picture of the actual trucks super imposed somewhere on the ad.

All said and done I like the ads but the product definitely needs to be in the picture. The tag line for the campaign is “Freighliner trucks are so powerful, even the super powerful are intimidated by them.”

This ad is so great its a shame its not actually on billboards across the world. The ad was created by Alex Silva a student at the Miami Ad School located obviously in Miami Florida. The student is also obviously from Brasil a big clue is the ad itself but even a bigger clue his last name… I don’t know why but it seems like 90% of people from Brasil there last name is either Silva or Da Silva! I’m not speculating, I’ve been to Brasil… the Silva’s run the joint!

In any case Alex knocked this one out of the box, his vision is extremely creative and the idea itself could be used for a number of other campaigns, countries, etc.. I do hope that the World Wildlife Fund actually does see this ad, hopefully they’ll consider using it, as it would be a great shame if all Alex got to show for it was a write up in the Casualty of Design blog.
And yes… its BraSil, not BraZil!

I had never heard of the ad agency Robert/Boisen & Like-Minded before today but from the looks of it I think I’ll be hearing a lot more from them in the future. Puma commissioned them to design a new ad campaign for the new product release of the 2009 “Puma King” soccer shoe. I’ve found 3 of the ads and I’ve got to say they are very impressive.

Please do click on the actual image to see the fine detail the illustrator “Evergrunge” put into this work. The time and care it must have taken to put together this concept must have been considerable. The above image you’ll find everything from skulls to loco motives but somehow the illustrator pulls it off and everything fits together flawlessly.

Up next we have the Fredrik Ljungberg interpretation and you can see that its quite a drastic change from the first image. This image is all white and if you click to see the details you’ll find images of angels, harps and majestic creatures. I’ve never heard of Fredrik Ljungberg but besides being a great foot baller he must be a pretty nice guy too!

Last but not least we have the illustration for foot baller Alexander Hleb. Wow this guy must be a supreme bad ass because this illustration screams wicked and evil! If you click the image to see the details you’ll find images of pit bulls, devils and dragons! It seems to me like Alexander Hleb is probably a bad boy on the pitch.
Great work to the design and creative crew at Robert/Boisen & Like-Minded you guys are definitely on the Casualty of Design radar and we look forward to seeing more of you work!
